BLEAW Honors Retired SPD Major Joe Tolliver

The Black Law Enforcement Assocaition of Washington (BLEAW) will honor Ret. SPD Major Joe Tolliver for his year years of service to the community and as a founding member of BLEAW in 1975.
Tolliver, a 32 year veteran with the Seattle Police Department (SPD), began his career in 1959. He spent his lifetime fighting for equal justice in policing, increased opportunites for our BIPOC community, and help reduce racism in policing. Tolliver was part of a lawsuit filed against the City of Seattle and the SPD to obtain equal rights for Black officers.
Join us in honoring Joe's work to help pave the path to police accountability and BIPOC leaders in Seattle. We will also acknowledge officers and police departments across Washington that intitially founded BLEAW.
